Opening Prayer by OBI Farm Manager Lynn Cole at the annual Faculty & Staff Pre-School Worship Service on August 12, 2010
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Yes, we praise you. We magnify your Holy Name. You are: All-Knowing, All-Loving, All-Powerful. You can do anything. You are our Father Who knows best.
Because You do know best, are All-Knowing, All-loving, All-Powerful and can do anything; we give You permission to do with our lives as You will. We submit our lives and the Oneida Baptist Institute 100% to You, our heavenly Father.
When we wake in the morning and have those negative emotions of fear, jealousy, clashing of wills or anger, we give them all to You.
When we have worries, we hand them over to You.
When we forget that we are here to serve You and only You, remind us of what our mission is--to say and demonstrate Your love to the students so that they too will accept Your Son Jesus as their Savior.
Help us all--each and every one--to maintain that attitude of service till the job is done.
Give us the patience of Job as we labor for you in this place.
Help each of us to set the priorities that will please You in whatever our jobs are--Farm, Maintenance, Construction, Food Service, Grounds, Education, Houseparenting or Administration.
We thank You that all the teaching positions have been filled. We thank You that funding continues to be contributed so that OBI may serve the youth of the world in this place. We thank You for the bountiful hay harvest, the tremendous increase in the profitability of the goat and swine herds and the potential of another very good corn crop as based upon our enjoyment of the huge sweet corn crop.
We put the need for construction and maintenance personnel and especially houseparents into Your hands. We know that You can fill these needs in Your time. We pray that our needs will be recognized as Your needs as we attempt to fulfill Your wishes in this ministry.
So, God, what are You up to today? We want to be a part of it! Let us be with You today! These things we pray in the Name of Jesus, our beloved Lord's Name! Amen
