2024 KHSAA 13TH REGION CHAMPIONS

Photo of the OBI Boys' Soccer team after winning the KHSAA 49th District Championship, the first time since 2015!  Winning the 13th Region Championship was an OBI first!

From President Larry A. Gritton, Jr. - Region Champs! OBI has been blessed with many talented soccer teams, but history was made on Tuesday night when Coach Cory Steltenpohl’s team defeated North Laurel by a score of 2-1 to win the 13th region tournament. Jason Fan, Hero Khajohnsupawatchara and Amadeus Martin were named to the All Tournament Team and Noah Jeon was named tournament MVP. This is the first time in school history that an OBI soccer team has won a KHSAA regional championship. These young men have given glory to God all season, are extremely dedicated to the game and we could not be prouder of them.

OBI third grader Everett Baker crossed the finish line in first place at the 13th Region Championship meet on October 7th! This young runner also shaved nearly four minutes off of his personal record! His coach, Mitch Hawkins, snapped this photo after the medal presentation. Way to go, Everett!
